5 Puppy Treats to Avoid

1. Cesar Softies

Cesar Softies come in adorable shapes! However, they have some ingredients that must be addressed:

Sugar-can cause Type II diabetes, dental problems, and obesity.

Animal Fat (Preserved with BHA/BHT)-BHA/BHT Causes Cancer, and Animal Fat makes dogs fat and causes Pancreatitis.

Caramel color- Contains 4-MEI which causes cancer.

Salt-Can cause Salt Poisoning, water deprivation (dehydration), vomiting, diarrhea and seizures!

Potassium Sorbate- it irritates the skin, eyes and respiratory tract.

Artificial colors (RED # 40, RED # 3, BLUE # 2, YELLOW # 5. YELLOW # 6.)-cause Cancer.

2. Crazy Dog Train-Me!

Crazy Dog Train-Me! treats have some questionable ingredients such as:

Sucrose- A type of sugar, can cause Type II diabetes, dental problems, and obesity.

Garlic Powder-can damage red blood cells and cause anemia.

Potassium Sorbate- it irritates the skin, eyes and respiratory tract.

Mustard- has toxic elements such as isothiocyanate and spices/salt.

Citric Acid- too much Citric acid could be toxic, irritate the dog’s digestive system, and cause vomiting and diarrhea.

Rosemary-can cause seizures in dogs.

3. Wellness Soft Puppy Bites

Wellness Soft Puppy Bites sound healthy just from the name. Well, upon researching them, there’s some pretty hazardous stuff:

Guar Gum-can be hazardous to dogs’ digestion and overall well being.

Salt-Can cause Salt Poisoning, water deprivation (dehydration), vomiting, diarrhea and seizures!

Garlic Powder-can damage red blood cells and cause anemia.

Spearmint extract-can be toxic, symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and weakness.

4. Blue Bits

I must say, I liked these when I saw them. They were adorable shapes, and delicious-looking recipes. However, upon researching the ingredients in Blue Bits, I found some stuff I would never give my dogs:

Cane Sugar-can cause Type II diabetes, dental problems, and obesity.

Salt-Can cause Salt Poisoning, water deprivation (dehydration), vomiting, diarrhea and seizures!

Oil of Rosemary-can cause seizures in dogs.

5. Newman’s Own Jerky Treats for Dogs

These are the best out of all the treats I showed you today! (I personally LOVE Newman’s Own Pineapple Salsa! {Thank you, dad.}) Here are the problems I found in these treats:
